Statement: At this time I usually returned to Japan only once a year,during the summer, so at other times I often felt nostalgic about Japan.However, once here,things were often quilt difficult and I would begin to think about New York with equally warm feelings.

This symbolizes the American part of my life. At this time I had lived there more than ten years. From my atelier I could see a broad sky. Towards sunset I would see buildings silhouetted against the sky, and would see slowly moving airplane contrails gradually change color.
