DescriptionTitle: The Princess of Weaving IV Year Completed: 2016 Size: H47” × W80” / H117 cm × W198 cm Material: Natural plant dyed antique cotton, new cotton (including hand-dyed), Thai silk Techniques: Machine piecing, hand applique, hand sashiko Statement: I made a base of diamond shapes using a large amount of natural antique fabric which I had accumulated, adding modern cotton where appropriate. I added shapes by applique suggesting a bamboo basket. Instead of quilting I used natural sashiko thread for linear patterns. |
